Take a walk on the wild side at Dickerson Park Zoo. The zoo, located in Springfield, Missouri, is home to 450 animals representing 160 species.

Caring for Our Animals During the Summer Heat
When daytime temperatures reach the mid-90s or above (and with high heat indices), we allow animals access to indoor enclosures that may be cooler as a precaution to help prevent heat-related health issues. The animals have the choice to go inside and therefore may not be visible to zoo guests.

What can you do about climate change?
Our friends at Monterey Bay Aquarium have a few suggestions. We liked the video so much, we wanted to share it with our Dickerson Park Zoo friends.

Zoo Staff Saddened by Death of Ol' C.C.
Ol' C.C.Everyone at Dickerson Park Zoo is deeply saddened by the death of "Ol' C.C.," our oldest elephant. She died overnight and was estimated to be 61 years old. If you would like to send a message of support to her zookeepers or share your memories of C.C., please follow this e-mail link.
